Dolly became a mediator as the result of her experiences as a facilitator for Neutral Ground and Parachute, educational and support groups for separating persons that she co-founded in 1976 and 1977. In those groups, she would often hear stories from group participants about their negative experiences (and their children’s) when the adversarial separation process took hold.
